These terms are an agreement between you and ReelMoney, based in India (“we”, “us” or “our”), for the Voice Notes app and the Voice Notes Pro subscription. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Voice Notes. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Who can use Voice Notes
You must be at least 13 to use Voice Notes, or older where your country requires it. To subscribe to Pro, you must be old enough to make a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian’s permission.
2. The app
Free. Voice Notes records, transcribes on your phone, and lets you search, edit, share and export your notes, with no account and no ads.
Pro adds summaries with reminders, chat with your notes, smart search, cloud backup and sync, and photo and video attachments. Pro needs an account and an internet connection.
Languages. Transcription works in 25 languages, listed on our support page. The app recognizes the language on its own. Other languages are not supported and will transcribe poorly.
We keep improving Voice Notes and may add, change or remove features. If a change would significantly reduce what Pro includes, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel.
3. Your notes are yours
You own your recordings, transcripts, attachments and everything else you create in Voice Notes (“your content”). We claim no ownership of it.
If you use Pro, you give us permission to store, copy, process and transmit your content only as needed to run Pro for you: backup, sync, summaries, search and chat, including through the service providers named in our privacy policy. This permission ends when your content is deleted. We don’t use your content for advertising or to train AI models.
Recording other people. Laws on recording conversations differ between countries and states, and some require everyone being recorded to agree. You are responsible for recording lawfully and for having the right to keep what you record.
4. Your account
Pro requires an account, created by signing in with Google or Apple. Your account is personal to you. Keep access to your Google or Apple account secure, because anyone who can sign in to it can open your notes. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
5. Pro subscription and billing
- Plans. Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription. The price, in your currency and including any taxes, is shown in the app and by the store before you confirm. Prices can differ between countries.
- Payment. Google Play or the App Store charges your account when you confirm the purchase, under its own terms.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your store account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. If the price changes, the store tells you in advance and, where required, asks for your agreement before charging the new price.
- Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a 7 day free trial for new subscribers. The store decides who is eligible, usually once per account. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you are not charged, and Pro stays on until the trial ends. If you don’t cancel, the yearly subscription starts when the trial ends and you are charged the yearly price.
- Grace period. If a renewal payment fails, the store may give you a grace period to fix it, and Pro keeps working during it.
- Availability. Pro may not be available in countries where the stores don’t offer purchases.
- Restoring. To get Pro back on a new phone, sign in with the same account and tap Restore purchases in Settings, then Pro.
6. Cancelling and refunds
You cancel through the store you subscribed with. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.
- Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Choose Voice Notes and tap Cancel subscription.
- App Store: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Choose Voice Notes and tap Cancel Subscription.
After you cancel, Pro continues until the end of the period you have paid for, and then ends. Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple under their refund policies: see Google Play’s refund help, or ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law.
7. When Pro ends
Notes on your phone are never touched. Your cloud copy stays available, read only, for 90 days after Pro ends: you can download, export and delete it, but not upload, summarize, chat or add attachments. We warn you in the app 30 days and 7 days before the end of those 90 days, and then delete your cloud notes. If you subscribe again within 90 days, everything resumes. Section 8 of our privacy policy has the details.
8. Fair use limits
Pro is for personal use, with generous limits that keep it fast and affordable for everyone:
- Cloud storage: up to 25 GB per account.
- Recordings: up to 4 hours per note. A longer recording continues in a new note automatically, so nothing is cut off.
- Photos: up to 50 per note, resized on your phone so the longest side is at most 2048 pixels before upload.
- Videos: up to 10 per note and up to 5 minutes each, converted on your phone to 720p before upload.
- AI: up to 200 summaries and 50 chat questions a day.
If you reach a limit, the app tells you, and recording on your phone keeps working. We may change these limits. We will tell you in the app before lowering a limit that affects you.
9. Acceptable use
Please use Voice Notes lawfully and fairly. Don’t:
- record or store anything in a way that breaks the law or someone else’s rights, including privacy and recording laws;
- upload content that sexually exploits children, or that promotes violence or terrorism;
- upload malware, or try to access other people’s data or our systems without permission;
- reverse engineer, scrape or overload our servers, or get around the limits, payments or security of Pro;
- resell or share Pro access, or use Voice Notes to build a competing service;
- use the AI features to try to create content that is illegal or harmful.
We don’t review your notes. If an account seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, we may suspend or close it, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
10. The app, the speech model and other software
We give you a personal licence to use Voice Notes on phones you own or are allowed to use. It isn’t exclusive, can’t be transferred, and lasts until you stop using the app or we end it under these terms. The app, its design and the Voice Notes name belong to ReelMoney.
Transcription uses Phonon 2.5, a speech recognition model by Fermion Research based on NVIDIA Parakeet, or NVIDIA Parakeet itself on phones that can’t run Phonon. Both are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Their attribution, and the licences of the open source software in the app, are in Settings, then About.
11. Google Play and the App Store
Your use of the app must also follow the terms of the store you got it from. If you got Voice Notes from the App Store, these terms are between you and ReelMoney only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, support or maintenance, or any warranty claims. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as third party beneficiaries, and your use must also follow the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
12. Disclaimers
- Accuracy. Transcripts, summaries, reminders and chat answers are made automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against your recording.
- Not for critical decisions. Don’t rely on Voice Notes for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions, or as the only reminder for something that must not be missed. Reminder alerts depend on your phone’s settings, and the system can delay them.
- Your copies. We work hard to keep your notes safe, but no service can promise that data will never be lost. In the free app, your notes exist only on your phone. Export the notes that matter to you.
- As is. To the extent the law allows, Voice Notes is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or work on every phone.
13. Liability
To the extent the law allows, ReelMoney is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data or missed appointments, from using or being unable to use Voice Notes. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t legally be excluded, or limits your rights as a consumer.
14. Ending these terms
You can stop using Voice Notes at any time, and delete your account from the app or at voicenotes.reel.money/delete-account. Remember to cancel your subscription in the store as well. We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaks these terms. If we ever stop offering Pro, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and give you a way to export your cloud notes.
15. Changes, law and contact
If we update these terms, we will post them here with a new effective date, and tell you in the app about changes that matter. These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting the protections you have under the laws of the country where you live.
